The club runs a RYA approved sailing course each year taking club trainees to RYA adult Dinghy Level 2 or Junior Start Sailing Level 3.

The course is held on six consecutive Saturdays, beginning around Easter. Boats are provided for this course which is held for the benefit of club members only. Entry to the course is subject to an informal selection interview as we wish to promote the training of members who want to continue sailing at the club.

We are not a commercial sailing school, though the course we offer is exactly the same as those you will find anywhere else in the RYA's domain. The course is world renowned as being the most effective method of teaching the skills required to sail safely. Instructors are all RYA qualified and all sessions take place with the cover of a powered safety boat driven by a qualified Coxswain.

The courses are generally fully booked months in advance. The cost is approximately one quarter of the amount charged by commercial sailing schools.
